FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Filled with a fun atmosphere, the Landing Strip was buzzing with parties and people looking to help the Flagler County Education Foundation reach its $2,000 goal. The tip jar quickly filled up with six community celebrities serving us on the Landing Strip that night.
Joe Wright, co-owner of The Landing Strip and current president of the Flagler County Education Foundation, was happy to host the event.
“We love helping the community. We enjoy the camaraderie of people coming together. It's a good time overall right now,” Wright said.
In his opinion, the Educational Foundation supports not only the children but the entire community. “It uplifts the community in a way. They say high tide raises all boats. If we can help a little, we help everyone.”
Celebrity servers were equally grateful for the community support and the opportunity to give back to the schools and communities that supported them.
Samantha Adams, Assistant Director of Fund Development for the Flagler County Education Foundation, enjoys serving and shared her thoughts on being a local celebrity.
“I don't know if I would call myself a celebrity, but we certainly appear in public a lot,” she said.
“We serve the community, so whether it's being part of a networking group, a local business or organization, or just bringing others here and they need support, I want to truly serve my community by being grounded and getting out there, even if it's just being there.'' I'm trying to find ways to get turned on. ”
