Recently, we've seen a number of projects that repurpose BlackBerry smartphone keyboards to create portable computers.but blackberry pie This might be one of the most cyberpunk DIY projects I've seen in a while.
Rather than focusing on a slim, pocketable design, this DIY handheld features a complete Raspberry Pi computer with full-size ports, a 4-inch touchscreen display, a BlackBerry keyboard, and a large battery. Packed in a 3D printed case.
Hardware hacker Taylor Hay posted some photos of the HackADay project, explained the construction process, and listed the main components.
In a nutshell, this chunky handheld PC is made from the following materials:
Assembling this system requires a little more work, including designing a case with room for all the components and soldering some cables in place (before that, Taylor Hay I tested the system by connecting the components with a number of cables (USB cables protruding from the back and sides of the case).
Taylor Hay hasn't shared the STL file needed to 3D print his own case, but several people have left comments on the project page asking for it.
