Just when Apple thought its latest firmware update had resolved the ongoing ghost touch issue among Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 owners, the problem not only hasn't been resolved, but it's now 3 It also seems to be spreading to older watches such as the Series 7 from 2008. It is expected that Apple will release another update soon to fix this issue, but other companies have also proposed temporary solutions.
Apple finally acknowledged the issue in February and advised its authorized service providers not to replace affected units and instead advise customers to wait for the next software fix. When Apple released the watchOS 10.4 update in March (which specifically mentioned fixes for Phantom Touch), users quickly realized that the bug still remained.

This week, another note (shared by X's Stella Fudge) was sent to authorized service providers informing them that the issue has spread to Apple Watch Series 7, Series 8, and OG Apple Watch Ultra. Again, providers are instructed not to replace affected units. Instead, it is guidance to help users stay current with watchOS updates. Reboot the affected device If you press and hold the side button and crown for 10 seconds, this means that Cupertino is still investigating the issue.
Meanwhile, complaints are increasing. Some users have actually used the watch to call emergency services, or ghost tapped the lock screen to get locked out of the watch. The only solution for some people is to lock the screen to touch or stop using the watch altogether.
