Sprucing up your garden with a brand new decking can often cost thousands of pounds if you hire a professional.
So it's no wonder that one clever woman was inundated with praise after revealing how she did it herself on a budget, using freebies from Facebook Marketplace and bargains from the likes of Poundland and B&M.
In a clip posted to TikTok (@teri_dewani2013), clever social media user Teri explains that she thought about installing a deck, but thought it would be too much work to clean every year.
Instead, she opted for deck tiles, and hasn't looked back since.
And, in a delight for DIY fans, Teri shared the details of how she created a super stylish new decking area on the cheap.
She explained that the first step was to dig and lay down some weed barrier tarp, which she picked up from B&M for just £9.99.
“Simply cut and place under mulch, bark chips, decking and more to create a weed-free base and help prevent weed growth in your garden,” advises the online product description.
He adds: “Weed barriers suppress weeds while allowing water to pass through, allowing your garden soil to breathe naturally and retain moisture and nutrients.”
Next, Teri says she added wooden pallets, which she got for free from Facebook Marketplace and didn't pay a penny for.
I love it, such a great idea!

Following this, she applied decking tiles from Home Bargains (£9.99 for a pack of four) and added five borders from The Range (£6.99 each), which she painted grey to match the tiles.
And finally she put up the black trim, which was £1.99 for a pack of four from Poundland, and the white coral stones were £7.99 from B&M.
The post quickly went viral, racking up a whopping 602,000 views and generating numerous comments from social media users, many of whom congratulated Teri on her amazing work.
“Great job done on budget!” praised one person.
A second commented: “I think it's lovely. Well done!”
A third enthused: “Amazing, well done!”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “This is amazing, such a great idea!”
And homeowners eager to follow in Teri's footsteps asked: “How did you attach the tile to the wood? Was it just glue? I would never have thought to do something like this.”
Teri helpfully replied, “You just clip the tiles in place and they don't move at all!”
