South Korean actress Seo Ye Ji opened a personal account on Instagram after a series of controversies in 2021, sparking speculation that she is paving the way for a comeback.
The 34-year-old opened her account on April 26 and posted three photos, one of her hugging a friend and another holding a cup. She is smiling in two of the photos.
Her account has amassed over 488,000 followers as of April 28th.
Seo debuted in the Korean television comedy 'Potato Star 2013QR3' (2013-2014). She gained attention for playing a children's book writer with antisocial personality disorder in her romantic drama series “It's Okay to Not Be Okay'' (2020), co-starring actor Kim Soo-hyun. She was nominated for Best Actress at the 2021 Baeksang Arts Awards for this role.
She was embroiled in controversy in April 2021 over reports that she had been manipulative towards her ex-boyfriend, actor Kim Jong-hyun.
In addition, a former staff member of Seo's agency claimed that Seo had abused her, threatened her, and acted unreasonably in an explosive revelation.
There were also accusations that she was bullied at school and lied about her educational background.
Even though her agency at the time, Gold Medalist, denied the allegations, Seo's image was affected.
She briefly returned to the spotlight in February 2022, apologizing for her past actions ahead of the release of the Korean drama “Eve.” She parted ways with the gold medalist in November 2023.
