Popular South Korean actor Park Seo-joon, known for his roles in hit dramas such as “What's Wrong with Secretary Kim,” “Itaewon Class” and “My Way,” is reportedly in negotiations to star in the new romance drama “Waiting for the Palace.”
Fans are excited about the prospect, especially as the drama will reportedly be directed by Im Hyun-wook, known for “King the Land,” and written by “Thirty-Nine” screenwriter Yoo Young-ah. If Park Seo-joon signs on, “Waiting for the Path of Reunion” will mark his return to the romance genre in collaboration with the two acclaimed creators.

On July 8, TV Daily reported that Park Seo Joon is ready to take on the role of the male lead Kyung-do in “Waiting for Kyung-do.” Regarding the rumor, Park Seo Joon's agency Awesome ENT confirmed, “He has indeed been offered the role in the new drama 'Waiting for Kyung-do,' but it is just one of several offers he is currently considering and has not yet been confirmed.” The drama is currently scheduled to air on JTBC.
Park Seo-joon's latest work is the tvN drama “Genie's Kitchen 2,” which delves into the inner workings of a restaurant run by a dedicated team. Additionally, he is preparing for the release of the Netflix drama “Gyeongseong Creatures 2” later this year. The first part of the drama is scheduled to premiere on December 22, 2023, and the second part is scheduled to be released in late 2024.
Director Lim Hyun-wook, known for “The King's Land” starring Lim Yuna, and screenwriter Yoo Young-ah, known for “39, With Love” and “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” are teaming up for this new romance drama.
