Five changes to expect in the new season of Ginny's Kitchen 2
Synopsis: Ginny's Kitchen 2 is a new season where fans can enjoy watching their favorite stars get into the hustle and bustle of working at a restaurant. Putting an interesting twist on the variety show, viewers get to experience and see their favorite stars as other restaurateurs.
1. New Intern
“Genie's Kitchen 2” will feature Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-sik, Lee Seo-jin, and Jung Yu-mi, with the exception of intern BTS's V, who is currently serving in the military. As such, popular actress Go Min-si will take BTS's V's place as the new intern at Genie's Kitchen.
The first change fans can expect in “Genie's Kitchen 2” is the introduction of new intern Go Min Si. Go Min Si is a well-known actress known for her roles in K-dramas “Sweet Home” and “May of Youth.”
2. New locations and new cuisine specialities
“Genie's Kitchen 2” will not only hire new interns, but will also fly the cast to an entirely new location.
Last season, the cast of “Genie's Kitchen” opened their first restaurant in Bacalar, a small town in southeastern Mexico, introducing locals and all to the flavors of Korean street food.
In season 2 of “Genie's Kitchen,” Park Seo-joon, Choi Woo-sik, Jung Yu-mi, and Go Min-si descend on the frigid city of Reykjavik, Iceland, alongside owner Lee Seo-jin to open a new branch of the restaurant.
With Iceland being one of the coldest places on Earth, fans can look forward to an entirely new environment and new challenges in the cold weather. Additionally, Jinny's Kitchen will be bringing a new culinary specialty this time around, serving authentic Korean cuisine in Iceland instead of street food.
The cast of “Genie's Kitchen 2” can be seen working tirelessly to bring the authentic taste of Korean beef soup “Gomtang” or “Gori Gomtang” to Iceland.
3. New names for Jinny's Kitchen branches
The name of the store has also changed. In Jinny's Kitchen Season 1, everyone saw Sojin's Korean street food in Mexico.
In “Genie's Kitchen 2,” the sign of a restaurant that opened in Reykjavik, Iceland, has been changed to “Seojin's Tteokbaegi,” and the cast will once again be serving up authentic Korean cuisine to diners.
4. Lee Seo-jin's motto has changed
Another change we can expect in “Genie's Kitchen 2” is the big transformation of Lee Seo-jin, the restaurant's owner and CEO.
As told in the trailer, the concept will change. In Jinny's Kitchen 2, CEO and owner Lee Seo-jin has set a new motto. However, last time, “profit is king.” This time, the cast will open a restaurant where customer satisfaction takes top priority.
It's an interesting change to see Lee Seo-jin prioritizing customer satisfaction over sales, and fans will be able to see a new side of CEO Lee Seo-jin in “Jinny's Kitchen 2.”
5. Everyone is a chef
Another big change you can expect in “Genie's Kitchen 2” is that every cast member will be the head chef. In fact, “Genie's Kitchen 2” will bring a new surprise in that every cast member will be the head chef for a day, meaning the head chef will change every day.
Fans can expect a lot of fun, excitement, a little bit of pressure, new challenges and seeing their favourite stars take on the role of head chefs in Jinny's Kitchen 2.
Genie's Kitchen 2 will premiere on 28 June 2024 on tvN in Korea at 8:40 PM (5:10 PM IDT) and will be available on Prime Video for international fans.
