Patrick Kielty may be stepping away from his Late Late Show hosting duties for the summer, but that doesn't mean he'll be enjoying the summer any time soon as he's battling a new health issue.
Yes, his wife Cat Deeley initially misdiagnosed it as an injury caused by home renovations, before sadly revealing that the presenter had shingles.
Speaking to co-star Ben Shephard about her shingles on This Morning, Kat revealed that Patrick had “no idea” he had it initially, and initially thought he had fibreglass on his face after building work on his house.
“He thought it had touched his face,” she said of Patrick and the fiberglass.
“He felt a burning, tingling, stinging sensation so he thought that was it.”
As it turns out, Patrick wasn’t imagining things, he was just imagining things wrong… can you see that?
Dr. Sarah Khayat explained the symptoms to look out for if you may be suffering from a similar condition.
“First, you tend to feel a tingling or burning sensation. You may also notice increased fatigue. You may get headaches or feel tired.”
“You might have a slight fever,” she added.
“After a few days, a rash will appear as small patches that turn into fluid-filled blisters, which will then crust over and fall off.”
Dr. Sala also said to be on the lookout for rashes, as they can appear anywhere on the body.
Poor Patrick! I hope he recovers quickly.
