A video of a grandmother repeatedly misunderstanding the steps for sewing a patch onto a bag has gone viral on TikTok.
The clip was posted by @malmeads0 and has been viewed 1.2 million times since it was shared on June 18.
The caption that accompanied the post read, “Asked by GMA [grandma] I sewed a patch on the bag and left my new life motto. Maybe things will work out soon! In this video, the patch of Flounder's character is The Little Mermaid Disney film is attached to the bag.
The video includes several screenshots of a text exchange between the poster and her grandmother, beginning with her asking, “Good morning, Princess. Before I attach Flounder to your pouch, is this position OK?”
My granddaughter replied, “Yes, but I think it's upside down,” to which I replied, “Lol, no, the seams are pointing up. That's Flounder's back.”
“It'll probably be fixed soon,” she replied, along with a photo of the patch still looking misplaced, with the poster writing, “Haha it's still a little off. If you turn it inside out the sewn side is on top and the correct side is touching the bag.”
The granddaughter later demonstrated what this meant by turning over a napkin that had “Back of Flounder” written on one side and “Front” on the other.

TikTok users had a good laugh at the exchange in this latest viral post and loved the grandma's reaction.

“Literally flipping out. I'm crying,” Abby said, while 😀 wrote, “I'm dying at the 'Maybe it'll be right soon!!'”
