Jin Ki Joo has officially been cast alongside Seo Kang Joon in an upcoming action comedy drama.
On June 18th, it was confirmed that Jin Ki Joo will star in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama “Undercover High School” (working title). Prior to this, Seo Kang Joon was also confirmed to star in the drama.
“High School Undercover” is a comedy action drama about a man who hides his identity as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent and goes undercover as a high school student, and deepens his bond with his classmates while living his school life. The screenplay is written by Lim Young-bin, who also wrote “Bad Prosecutor.”
Jin Ki-joo stars as Oh Soo-ah, a temporary Korean history teacher and the homeroom teacher of Jeong Hae-sung (Seo Kang-jun), who secretly attends the school as a student. Soo-ah works at the prestigious Byeongmun High School and is known for her strong beliefs and deep compassion for her students.
However, when Oh Soo-ah notices a striking resemblance between Jeong Hye-sung, a new transfer student in her class, and her childhood first love, who deeply hurt her, this triggers a series of dramatic events in her school life.
The production team said, “Jin Ki-joo brings an intellectual image and bright energy to the role of Soo-ah, making her perfect for the role. Her interactions with undercover agent Hye-sung promise unpredictable comedy and romance. The production team is excited about the possibilities.”
“Undercover High School” is scheduled to air as a Friday-Saturday drama on MBC in 2025.
