You've been busy studying for final exams, attending prom parties, and planning your summer vacation, so Father's Day shopping has probably been put on the back burner.
Father's Day is just around the corner (this Sunday!), but don't worry if you haven't found the perfect gift yet: we've rounded up some easy DIY presents (using affordable materials) that dad is sure to love.
Coffee Mugs
Follow
Every morning you wake up to the sound of your dad brewing coffee, so he'll surely love a new mug that reminds him of you. All you need is a plain white ceramic mug and some Sharpie markers or acrylic paints. Draw or paint the mug, let it dry for about 24 hours, then bake it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to set the design in place.
If you don't have time to do this DIY project before Father's Day, another great gift option is a father-daughter trip to a local pottery studio. You can spend some quality time together and decorate matching mugs at the same time – a win-win for everyone.
Barbecue Apron
Glass Chalk
Father's Day is the perfect day for a BBQ dinner, and how sweet it would be if your dad could wear this custom apron while he's grilling burgers for the family! Buy a simple white apron, fabric markers, and fabric paint. Use the markers to draw your dad's favorite things (football, cars, books, etc.) and write a sweet message of love. The fabric paint is perfect for adding a personal touch (it's never too late to draw a handprint!) and add color to your design.
key chain

Let's be honest, your dad's keychains are probably pretty boring and need a major makeover. Grab a Rainbow Loom kit from your closet and follow our YouTube tutorials to make a super cute charm that will fit perfectly on your keychain. You can also make a simple keychain using string and jewelry beads, or create a unique design using shrink plastic sheeting, colored pencils, and a hole punch.
Friendship Bracelets
Follow
Remember those beads and strings left over after making dozens of friendship bracelets for the Eras tour? Now's the time to put them to use!
Choose your dad's favorite color and create a simple friendship bracelet he can wear every day. Add a handmade card and his favorite candy for the perfect gift to show him you care.
Mobile phone cases
Follow
One thing your dad uses every day is his phone. Why not make him a cute case to protect it? Get yourself a clear phone case (make sure to check the model of your dad's phone!) and start collecting images to make a collage. You can collect different images, such as family photos, sporty stickers, beautiful views of your dad's favorite vacation spots, and more. Paste all the images onto a piece of paper (measure and cut them to fit the case) and stick them inside the case. Your dad's phone will look better than ever!
Picture Frame
Author:
There's a reason this classic gift has stood the test of time: Dad will love having your photo on his desk. Buy a simple wooden frame and get creative with how it's decorated. Use acrylic paints to coat the base in his favorite colors, then move on to more intricate designs (think stars or leaves). Stickers are a great option, too, or you can even glue on some shells from your collection for a stunning finished product.
Tip: Don't forget to choose your favorite photo (or collage) to put inside the frame!
