AustinTexas – Vice President and Director of Athletics at Concordia-Texas University Rhonda Seagraves announced the hiring of Chris So Seo has joined the Concordia Athletic Training Department as the new assistant athletic trainer. He joins the Concordia Athletic Training Department after working on several athletic events for CTX as a contract athletic trainer last season. Seo will officially begin his duties on Aug. 1.
“Concordia Athletics is excited to have Chris Theo join our sports medicine team. His background in intercollegiate athletics, his love of working with student-athletes and his knowledge of athletic training stood out. We are very fortunate and welcome Chris to the Tornado family,” Seagraves said.
Seo earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Health Science from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Science in Athletic Training from Texas A&M University. Seo began his career as an athletic training student with Southern Methodist University's football team during fall camp in 2019. During his master's studies at Texas A&M, Seo worked with Texas A&M's football, baseball and track and field teams and did an internship at the University of Washington in the summer of 2021.
Upon completing his master's degree in 2022, Seo was hired as an athletic trainer for the Harvard University track and field/cross country team. After a year in Boston, he returned to Austin to become an athletic trainer for Ascension Medical Group. He served multiple independent school districts including Hutto, Georgetown, and Round Rock, and also worked with local teams such as Lone Star SC and the Austin Ice Bats. Having excelled in his role at Ascension, Seo is now excited to begin his new role at Concordia Texas.
