SEO agency Prosperity Media today announced the appointment of Ellie Sumner as its first digital PR manager, joining a team of three others.
Sumner will be responsible for streamlining processes, injecting fresh ideas into campaign initiatives, mentoring junior team members and supporting outreach and strategy development.
The Surry Hills-based boutique agency has traditionally worked with medium to large sized clients with a focus on SEO and content marketing, but hired Sumner to help expand its digital PR team following a string of new client wins.
Sumner brings four years of digital PR experience to the role, having begun her career in the UK, where she rapidly rose through the ranks from Digital PR Intern to Digital PR Strategist at Digitaloft, a digital PR and SEO agency. In this role, she was responsible for managing some of the agency's largest client accounts. After relocating to Australia, Sumner expanded her skillset by delving deeper into traditional PR at a reputable Australian agency, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Australian media landscape.
Sumner is now looking forward to bringing his Australian media knowledge and digital PR experience to the Prosperity Media team when it launches its digital PR services in August 2023.
Jonas Grunfeld, Director of Digital PR at Prosperity Media, said: “It's an exciting time for digital PR in Australia. We've seen a surge in interest from both existing clients and potential businesses and we expect this interest to grow even more as more marketers realise the importance of digital PR. We're delighted to welcome Ellie to the team to help expand our digital PR services and deliver great outcomes for our clients. With over 15 years' combined experience, our digital PR team now has the makings of a strong team well-positioned to deliver end-to-end digital PR campaigns, from ideation to outreach, including reactive PR strategies.”
Prosperity Media founder James Norquay also commented on the expansion of their digital PR team and services: “Over the past five years, digital PR has skyrocketed in popularity in the UK and US and is now attracting increasing interest from Australian businesses. However, there is a noticeable gap in the market for a local digital PR team that is well versed in both link building through digital PR and a nuanced understanding of the Australian media landscape. Recognizing this, we have introduced digital PR services to complement our existing SEO services. We believe digital PR will be a major trend in Australia and as an agency we are committed to investing time and resources in building a strong digital PR team.”
This strategic appointment comes as Prosperity Media expands its digital PR practice with the goal of building the best digital PR service in the Asia Pacific region.
