A gardener has shared a DIY hanging garden that allows you to grow plants in small spaces.
This easy home project helped her overcome her gardening indecision.
Ramona Cruz Peters (@fabeveryday) shared gardening tips in a viral TikTok video.
“Small space gardening tips! I'll show you how easy it is to create a hanging pot herb garden,” she said.
“This is a great solution for apartment gardening, renters who need a non-permanent gardening solution, or those who don't have enough space.”
Ramona headed to the hardware store to choose a trellis that would fit her space and her personal style.
She adds that a pro tip is to choose one with a wide base to prevent it from tipping over.
Next she chose a planter with a built-in hanger.
Ramona chose one from IKEA, but any planter with hangers will work.
This $17 five-piece set from Amazon might be the perfect choice for the occasion.
“If the pot doesn't have drainage holes, be sure to poke them in the bottom with a hammer and nail,” she says.
Returning to the house, she leaned the trellis up against the empty wall, planted herbs in the new planters, attached label tags, and hung the pots on the trellis.
She says the space-saving DIY has saved her the trouble of deciding what herbs to plant.
“I had been undecided about my garden for a long time so this was a great solution,” she said.
The gardener revealed that she found her chosen herbs and soil at Home Depot.
“I use organic potting soil when growing herbs and vegetables,” she adds.
