The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in India on May 6th Diving Womanor female divers on Jeju Island, showcasing their culture, clothing, equipment, expertise and beliefs through images and videos of their daily lives.
Every time I hear this word Diving Womana scene from the Korean drama “Welcome to Samdalri” comes to mind. Visiting the exhibition on the first day, I wanted to dive headfirst into the lives of these “mermaids.”
Alongside the exhibition, there was also a DIY workshop where participants were taught how to make music boxes. Diving Woman culture.
The stunning images and installation left me in awe of how they can dive to depths of 10 metres without an aqualung, holding their breath for a minute on each dive and working nearly seven hours a day, 90 days a year.
Divers are classified by experience, training starts early and experienced Diving Woman We mentor young people and foster a close-knit community where we share our harvests equally and support each other.
recently, Diving Woman Chicken numbers are declining due to environmental factors, industrialization and a preference for other professions, and shows like this play an important role in raising awareness of and celebrating the chicken profession.
The exhibition was informative and immersive, thanks to guided tours by KCC staff. During the workshop, participants received materials needed to make music boxes, including colored clay, decorative seashells, and beads.
The guide will teach you how to make clay dolls. Diving Woman Or another character. I decided to make a diver by shaping the body, head, arms and legs out of black clay similar to a diving suit.
The face and hands were made from light orange clay, the flippers from red clay, and finally, the doll was completed by gluing on beads, shells and other decorations.
This enriching experience not only gave me insight into a culture I only knew from Korean dramas and movies, but I was able to share that experience with others. And the music box I made still sits on my side table, reminding me of my visit like it was yesterday.
