After a few days of calm weather on Google, we're now seeing a spike in volatility, fluctuations, and SEO chatter about Google search ranking movements. Although it's still early days, we're seeing a spike in SEO and a spike in volatility for many tools as they notice ranking movements.
This means your Google search rankings may be updated. The last Google update we covered was an unconfirmed Google update on May 16th, after which the fluctuations subsided over the next few days and over the weekend. Now it's spiking again from today (probably yesterday). As a reminder, the March 2024 core update started on his March 5th and ended 45 days later on his April 19th. After that, he reported changes in the rankings both before April 25th (which I still thought was a core update) and on May 3rd, and on May 9th, the rankings changed even more. , it doesn't fit.
Yes, Google is currently rolling out AI Overview and new web filters, but I don't believe this is the cause of the instability.
Google tracking tools
As you can see, most of these tools are super overheated and have seen big fluctuations in Google rankings over the past week.

SEO chat
Here are some of the early SEO chats I've come across on WebmasterWorld over the past day or so.
Now you receive traffic tailored to your business and inquiries are more effective. Let's see if it's just a 2 day thing or if Google is improving…
My traffic is up 50% compared to last week
I thought it was a relatively high traffic day until I looked at the logs and discovered that 48.9% of the visits were to Huawei Clouds bots in Singapore. I've tried every possible way to block this with no success and will end up with thousands more accesses over the next few days 🙁
This obviously also means that the actual traffic today is very low.
We continue to see a significant drop in our top 3 keywords…all in a very short period of time. This hasn't been happening for a while, but the traffic doesn't seem any worse than usual, so it must be the low volume keywords that are down. We're also seeing a big move in competitive keywords this week…some of the keywords that have been #1 for years went from #1 to #2 to #3. it fell. Then for other keywords he skyrocketed to number 1, and for other keywords he rose over 30 positions. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?
Does anyone realize that something big is happening right now?
