With scorching summer temperatures and growing climate concerns, Arun Rajeev, Founder and Director of i-Robochakra, offers sustainable cooling solutions. His innovative Vetiver Cooler Fan offers a do-it-yourself option compared to traditional air conditioners. This eco-friendly device can help you stay cool while minimizing environmental impact, he promises.
Driven by a deep commitment to green living, Arun and his wife Sujata have spent nearly six years shunning traditional cooling methods in favor of sustainable alternatives. Their dedication to minimizing environmental impact laid the foundation for the development of Vetiver His cooler fans.
“We have consciously lived without a refrigerator and air conditioner in our home for nearly six years. Instead, we have prioritized sustainability in our daily lives and implemented measures such as using bamboo curtains on the windows. We have adopted alternatives. Issues such as the negative effects of global warming and plastic pollution concern us deeply and motivate us to work diligently to minimize our environmental footprint. ” says Arun.
“During the scorching summer heat, we were looking for an alternative to traditional air conditioning. Inspired by the natural cooling properties of vetiver (a perennial bunchgrass known for its fragrant roots), we “We have embarked on a journey to create sustainable cooling solutions,” he added.
Through careful research and experimentation, Arun devised a system that utilizes moist vetiver curtains and a pedestal fan to provide a steady supply of cool air. “The vetiver cooler fan works by spraying water on the vetiver curtain that is hung in front of the pedestal fan, and the fan turns on for a predetermined period of time and then turns off automatically,” says Arun. explains.
Although the project is DIY, Arun emphasizes the importance of care. “Handling water and electricity requires extreme care, especially for those without electronics expertise,” he advises.
Despite their DIY nature, vetiver cooler fans are showing promise as a sustainable alternative to traditional air conditioning units. “Our invention reduces greenhouse gas emissions and promotes healthier indoor air quality,” claims Arun.
As individuals and communities look for ways to combat climate change, innovations like vetiver cooler fans offer hope for a cooler, greener future.
