Billionaire Gautam Singhania was recently spotted driving the new McLaren 750S supercar in Mumbai. Raymond Group's chairman and managing director is known as a supercar enthusiast and has a large collection of supercars.
The businessman was spotted behind the wheel of a catchy orange and black luxury car on a busy road in the city. The moment was captured in a video shared on a YouTube channel called CS 12 vlogs.
Singhania's supercars include Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren, specifically the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Superleggera, Lotus Elise Convertible, Nissan Skyline GTR, Honda S2000, and Ferrari 458 Italia.
He runs Super Car Club Garage (SCCG) in Thane, which offers restoration, maintenance, repair and customization of sports cars, supercars, luxury cars and vintage cars. He visits the center twice a week. Last year, this car enthusiast also launched his GS Design, which offers fast car customization.
Last August, Singhania slammed the Maserati MC20 supercar, calling it the “worst” car he had ever driven. He also warned anyone considering driving that it was dangerous.
“Frankly, I paid for a Maserati and got a lemon instead,” said Singhania, whose car bounced like a soccer ball as he got behind the wheel. The company added that this was due to the road conditions in India.
He also called on the company to appoint an independent test driver to check the safety of the model.
Singhania, who has a net worth of $1.4 billion according to Forbes, announced his separation from his wife Nawaz Modi Singhania in November last year. The couple have two daughters. According to a report in the Economic Times, a public argument broke out within the family after Nawaz Modi accused Singhania of assaulting him.
Gautam Singhania is also estranged from his father, Raymond family patriarch Vijaypat Singhania. Singhania, the senior, had transferred all 37% of Raymond Group's shares to his younger son Gautam in 2016.
