Please use fire protection equipment when soldering
Always protect from flames when soldering near wood or flammable materials. Use flame retardant blankets. Hang it behind the joint you are working on to insulate flammable materials and prevent fires. In an emergency, you can also use a metal plate instead.
Moistening the area around the soldering job with water from a spray bottle is also effective to prevent fires. Also, keep a fire extinguisher handy just in case.

Keep low voltage wires away from power lines
It's tempting to pull low-voltage wires such as coaxial cable or Cat-6 through existing holes occupied by electrical cables, but don't do that. Even if insulated, high voltage currents can interfere with signals on low voltage wires. This can lead to poor TV reception and unstable internet service.
Place the new low-voltage wire a few inches away from the electrical cable and drill a new hole. It is OK to run low voltage wires perpendicular to the cable. It is also acceptable to run low-voltage wires next to wires that are wrapped in conduit or metal sheathing.
