The Woodland Township Department of Environmental Services will continue its recycling rights education program through 2024, and as part of this effort, township staff will install educational materials on all residential sidewalk side carts from April through July 2024. I'm planning to attach a tag. These tags are for general education purposes only. Cart contents are not inspected.
Residents are encouraged to keep their tags and refer to them whenever they are unsure whether an item can be placed in the in-store recycling cart. The golden rule is simple. If the item is not listed in one of his five item categories on the tag, it will not be added to your cart. Items that are not accepted will not be recycled, regardless of the material. Additionally, they can reduce the value of acceptable items and cause problems at recycling facilities.
Common contaminants include plastic bags, greasy pizza boxes, Styrofoam, wire, yard trimmings, and cords of all types. Residents are asked not to bag recyclables as good quality recyclables wrapped in plastic bags are considered contaminants and will be disposed of at recycling centres. Add all recyclable items to your cart.

This program provides residents of The Woodlands with clear and simple guidelines on what items are suitable for in-store recycling carts and, just as importantly, what should not be included. Specify. By ensuring that only accepted materials are placed in recycling carts, you can keep contamination levels low and maintain the strength of your town's recycling program.
