Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's department said Scott “deliberately ignored numerous instructions” to allow certified vendors access to Adams Township's vote tabulation machines for maintenance and testing. said. The tabulations were withheld until Michigan State Police seized them with a search warrant.
Lambert is accused of transmitting Adams Township electronic poll book data for the 2020 general election at Scott's direction.
“Ensuring the security and integrity of elections is the cornerstone of our democracy,” Nessel said. “It is a violation of the democratic process that elected officials and their agents use their positions to advance baseless conspiracies, blatantly disregard voter privacy, and violate the law in the process. It undermines the essence of this. Those who engage in such reckless behavior must be held accountable for their actions.”
