Flemington DIY, a local non-profit community art space, will host a “10 Years of DIY” celebration on Saturday, May 18th at 7:30 p.m.
The event will be headlined by New York post-punk band Bodega, and will also feature performances by comedian Chris Gerhardt, indie rock band Shalom, and up-and-coming power pop group Classic Traffic.
Additionally, Diamond Heart Body Piercing & Tattoo will be offering tattoo flash sheets on the day, with a portion of the proceeds going to the organization.
To celebrate, Lone Eagle Brewing will be pouring a new beer, Decadent Decade IPA, for the third year in a row, and once again a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Flemington DIY. This beer is also available in limited to-go 4-packs.
“It’s hard to believe that the community has supported Flemington DIY for so long, nearly a third of my life,” says co-founder and executive director Jeff Hirsch. “Maintaining an art space is no easy task these days, especially as it is 100% volunteer-run (my role included) and I would like to thank all the volunteers, collaborators, and staff who have helped get us this far. , we are forever grateful and grateful to our supporters.”
“Over the last 10 years, we've hosted well over 1,300 events (and probably more), collaborated with countless groups and businesses, and met some of the greatest and most uplifting voices in the wider region. We seem to be growing more and more every year and I'm excited and excited to see what the future holds for us.”
Flemington DIY's New Art Circle is unveiling a new art vending machine selling small works by local artists.
Tickets are on sale for $20 in advance and $25 at the door at 26 Stangl Road Flemington, NJ and can be purchased at flemingtondiy.org.
