A pet dog in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad has sparked alarm after it allegedly attacked a girl even though she was on a leash.
The incident took place at Ajnara Integrity Society.Surveillance camera footage captured the moment german shepherd As the owner struggled to contain it, it allegedly lunged at the 6-year-old and bit her on the arm. The girl's mother immediately intervened and signaled for her help and tried to shoo her dog away. The incident occurred with several other children nearby.
Police filed the case after a complaint was filed by the girl's mother Namita Chauhan. According to a report by NDTV, Chauhan stressed that the dog was not muzzled at the time. Ms Chauhan also claimed that her one-year-old son was also attacked by the same dog, although it was not seen on CCTV. She called for immediate action and asked authorities to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future, including removing the dog from the association's premises.

The incident comes as the center is directing states to ban the sale and breeding of 23 aggressive dog breeds, including pit bull terriers, American bulldogs, Rottweilers and mastiffs. The measures are aimed at combating the rising number of deaths from dog attacks and highlight the need for stronger regulations around pet ownership and safety measures.
