Get ready for an electrifying DIY showdown as the Scottish amateur duo go head-to-head this spring in an all-new TV Challenge series. Dùbhlain DIY (instructions not included).
The five-part BBC ALBA original series, which will air every Monday at 8.30pm from May 6, will see six couples, families and friends compete for £2,000 in prize money and to be crowned 'Dublin DIY Champion' . title.
Encouraging the public to 'do it themselves' in the name of sustainability, this innovative format pits a pair of newcomers against each other in a series of home improvement tasks, with a twist. With no instructions, demonstrations, or even guidelines to follow, couples must put their different strengths and creative talents to use in a contest to see who comes out on top.
Each week, one couple is eliminated and their skills and relationships are put to the test, as some shine and others fail in the face of various themed challenges.

From basic flat-pack furniture to one-of-a-kind pieces made from recycled materials, you can let your imagination run wild before being trained by material, time constraints, and often your own abilities. .
dublin diy Competitor Tormod McLeod said: I built a flatpack like everyone else and made some basic raised beds for my garden.
“I will try to fix the problem if necessary, but I am by no means a professional.”
Hoping to learn a few things in the process, the lawyer's sister Isabel McLeod added:
“I often spent time helping him make and repair things, but I wish I had studied more. I'm always trying to improve. I don't know if I'm good at some tasks, but it's always worth a try.”
Hosted by TV and radio presenter Derek 'Pluto' Murray, alongside main judge musician and master joiner Ian 'Spanish' McKay, the Gaelic duo will have plenty of laughs along the way. We guarantee.
