born in australia Los Angeles artist Dolly Duggar began her musical journey in high school by taking vocal and guitar lessons, but ended up skipping class to spend time in the music room.
“I didn't start looking at it as a career or taking it too seriously until I formed my first real band with guys who wanted to do a little more than just jamming in the garage. And that included “I realized I needed a little more time than just playing a few shows and bothering my friends,” Duggar says.
Dugger says he arrived at the doom and groove sound with guitarist Jesse McInturf.
“Genre-wise, I think it can go a lot of ways, but as long as it's fateful and grooves at the end of the session, we're happy,” she says.
A new single and video “Tower” was released on April 10th.
“Louis [Diller, producer] And Jesse really gets into the riff of this song,” Duggar said. “Their energy was infectious and everything happened super fast. You combine a guitarist and a drummer with similar influences and a love of equipment, and that's a recipe for energy and great hype. It became.”
Dugger believes that “DIY” is both a stepping stone and a chance for artists to build a solid foundation as they seek to climb into bigger things.
“Like any business, a lot of wheels have to turn together. I wear a lot of hats, but the more we grow, the less DIY we have. I'm so grateful for the people who are there and do that. It feels like a better fit now,” she says.
Looking ahead, Dugger has a lot planned for 2024.
“I’m going to Australia to play some shows and I’m currently working on my next EP,” she says. “We are very excited to be working toward completion of these trucks for the second half of this year.”
