IT remains one of the biggest trends in homeware at the moment.
There are also hacks to achieve the look of paneled wood walls, but they are often still expensive.
So one woman showed how she achieved the look on a budget using self-adhesive wooden slat wallpaper, priced at £20 per roll, sold on Amazon.
“Paper is self-adhesive and doesn't smudge, so no glue is needed,” she said in a video on her TikTok page showing herself applying the wallpaper and using cardboard to smooth it out.
“Don't try to paste over wet paint, we learned the hard way,” she added.
She ran into another problem because the wall wasn't perfectly straight, and then had to buy another roll of wallpaper because she miscalculated the cost of the wallpaper.
The following video showed the finished look after applying all the wallpaper and updating the mural along the way to reflect the salon with images of hair dryers and women undergoing beauty treatments.
The paint on the actual woodwork has also been updated from gray to glossy black.
People were quick to comment on the video, with one person writing: “Transformation!!!”
“We're obsessed,” the woman answered.
“I love this!!” Another added.
“Wow I can't believe this is wallpaper!! Looks amazing,” a third person praised.
“I used the regular wallpaper version. It's quite cheap and lacks the gloss. It's £10 for a 10 meter roll and probably wider too.” commented another.
In response, the woman replied, “In the future, I plan to use the regular wallpaper version.''
“I have the same one and it looks so nice on the wall,” another wrote.
“Exactly the same style but the Dunelm wallpaper was £12 a roll,” said another.
