Ahead of a summer full of shows and festivals, the Lambrini Girls today delivered a new song that's a little more personal than their usual raucous political anthems (check out their latest song, “God's Country”).
The song, titled “Body Of Mine,” is about how the band says, “This song is about trying to connect with your gender identity, feeling like you're not quite yourself, and finding your true self.” It's a song about struggling to figure out how to be. Gender is a complex experience, and this song represents one of the many perspectives of not knowing where you fit into it all. We accept that it's just that. It's hard to feel like no one understands you, and it's really terrible to feel like you don't know how to understand yourself.”
