TEHRAN – The Iranian National Oil Company (NIOC) has signed a contract with the domestic company Neign Afaq Kish Energy Development Company (TENCO) to carry out 2D and 3D seismic activities in northern and northwestern Iran for two years. .
The contract was signed on Tuesday, April 16, between NIOC Exploration Directorate Director Mehdi Fakour and TENCO Director Abdulrasoul Aghajani, Shana reported.
The contract covers areas spanning 900 square kilometers and 1550 square kilometers, respectively, to collect three-dimensional and two-dimensional seismic data in the Morgan region in the northwest of the country.
Under the agreement, 15 million euros and 10 trillion rials (approximately $20 million) will be spent on carrying out work that will ultimately lead to an understanding of the oil and gas exploration situation in the region.
At the contract signing ceremony, the Managing Director of TENCO thanked the NICO Exploration Bureau for signing the contract and said that the two countries have been cooperating for 15 years on the advancement of the oil industry and the provision of services. .
“We hope that the completion of this project will be another step towards achieving our common goal of a thriving oil industry,” he added.
