Historically seen as a last resort for disengaged youth, we are a vibrant community where each student has ownership over their own educational decisions in collaboration with school staff and leaders. is.
Big Picture Learning, South Valley's teaching framework, aims to structure education around students' passions, leverage real-world experiences, and foster strong relationships. Our approach involves breaking away from the traditional notion that learning takes place primarily within the walls of school buildings and instead engaging young people in hands-on learning through internships in areas of interest with experts in their communities. It includes providing opportunities to We partner with over 50 local businesses and organizations that are essential to our students' education.
Our guiding philosophy is simple but transformative. Education must be personalized, interest-based, and rooted in the world beyond the classroom.
