Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang sees artificial intelligence software as a tool to make society more fair.
And I thought it was all about writing code and cheating on exams.
“I believe that artificial intelligence is the single greatest contribution of the technology industry that will lift up all people who have been historically marginalized and contribute to the betterment of society,” Huang said Friday in a statement from the Computing Research Institute. He spoke at a lecture at Oregon State University, where he is laying the foundation for. The building is named for Oregon State University alumnus Juan and his wife Lori.
“We have leveled the playing field,” he said. Nvidia provided details of the event in a blog post.
Huang argued that AI's ability to help people write code and request natural language from databases should open new opportunities for people without coding skills.

“Programming is so difficult that the number of people who benefit from it and use it for economic prosperity is limited,” Huang said.
Regarding AI, Huang added: “You basically always have a collaborator, you basically always have a tutor. So I think the ability of AI to improve all the people that are left is pretty extraordinary.”
The couple announced they will donate $50 million to the research center in 2022.
