MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Millions of adults are under pressure to file their taxes today, but with April 15 being the start date for the state's standardized tests, the pressure is also on for Tennessee students. I am.

The exam will be held over three days.
Students in grades 3-8 take state-mandated Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) assessments in English language arts, math, and science.
Students in grades 6-8 also receive a social studies assessment. A high school student who completes English I or II, Algebra I or II, Geometry, U.S. History, or Biology will receive her TCAP End of Course (EOC) evaluation in these subjects.
The test helps individual school districts and state education officials measure the learning level of Volunteer State students over the past year of instruction.
Test scores are compared to results from previous annual tests to help officials determine what changes are needed to improve classrooms in the future.
School leaders are stressing that test attendance is a top priority and encouraging parents to make sure their children get enough rest to prepare for the test.
