A video of a man smoking in a moving autorickshaw in Bengaluru and injuring a passing biker has been widely shared on the internet. A video shared by biker Sheikh Moin captured a violent altercation between him and his commuter inside an autorickshaw in Karnataka's capital's JP Nagar area.
While sharing the video on X, Moin wrote: “April 7, 5:59 pm – Japan Nagar Phase 5. This passenger, who was in the car, put his hand out of the car and touched my leg as the car driver passed me. I was just relaxing in a public place, smoking a cigarette. When I was questioned, I was pushed aside and almost hit the pavement.”
“Vehicle KA 04 AM 8321 The criminal claims to have spoken to @BlrCityPolice and provided my details. I hope this person understands that it is illegal to smoke in public and create a nuisance. “I don't know if they haven't,” he added.
Moin said he dialed the emergency number and was quickly answered by local police, but the commuter fled before police arrived at the scene.

In response to the post, the Bangalore City Police wrote, “Attention, the officers involved have been informed.''
The video caught the attention of the internet and sparked discussion on the platform. “But why were you driving so close to the rickshaw? Please drive a little further away,” the user said. Another user said, “A few words of sorry and thank you would have resolved this situation right then and there. From my perspective, it's a clash of egos. Nothing else.”
“There's no scope for burns. This is happening because of helmet cameras… lol… people have problems with everything now,” a third user wrote. “I've seen this so many times. Unnecessary smoking for others,” another user responded.
