SEO specialists are digital marketing experts who are responsible for improving a website's ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs). They accomplish this by implementing strategies that make the site more attractive to both search engines and users.
primary responsibilities
Audit and health check
- Understand how to perform a detailed SEO audit for both technical and marketing departments
- Regularly review and analyze customer sites and look for areas that can be improved and/or optimized
- Able to provide clear and convincing competitor audit/analysis
- Provides complete audit documentation including supporting materials such as segmented URL list
strategy
- SEO-specific strategies for client brands, including but not limited to rankings, content, backlinks, and KWR strategies.
- Provide clear and well-prepared optimizations, recommendations, and/or suggestions
- Supporting your digital strategy with research, competitive analysis, and campaign strategy
the study
- Keyword research: Identify powerful keywords that drive the most valuable traffic
- Analyze the keywords and SEO techniques used by your competitors
- Actively research best practices and the latest thought leadership available to provide thought leadership and training to others.
implementation
- Create SEO content such as URL naming conventions, metadata, and H1 tags as needed. We'll help you create, test, and improve powerful CTAs to convert your visitors.
- Create and/or edit websites and other content using effective keywords as needed
- Assisting with and/or inputting website structures such as sitemaps, user journeys, wireframes, etc.
- Ability to contact sites with harmful backlinks to resolve and improve quality rankings
- Collaborate with development, IT, and social departments for effective implementation
- A good understanding of the SEO limitations of the most common CMS platforms and their workarounds.
report
- Reporting skills and data analysis
- Create detailed strategic reports with clear insights and actions
- Regular visibility reporting for existing clients and liaison with relevant IT departments for effective resolution and/or implementation.
- Escalate urgent issues regarding site glitches that impact rankings, channel updates, competitor activity, or SEO visibility.
Key requirements
- 3+ years of experience in SEO (agency level – organic preferred)
- Understanding digital marketing best practices
- Experience in content marketing, content growth, and SEO
- Working knowledge and/or training in search engine optimization practices
- Works well under pressure and thinks flexibly
- Strong ability to think creatively and strategically and identify and solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Experience using modern tools, apps, and systems relevant to the role, including Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Woorank, Search Console GA4, and Google AdWords.
- Gain an advantage with relevant Google certifications
- Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
