A Manchester technology company has become the first in the world to create a successful app that turns your mobile phone into an electric razor.
readers of theBusinessDesk.com can apply for a discounted beta version of the app using the discount code Looflirpa2024.
Available for download from the Apple and Android App Stores, this innovative device allows you to style your hair on the go.
Appacut is the brainchild of self-confessed tech geek Michael Lawes, who spent two years turning his idea into reality. He recently received his six-figure investment to further develop the app so it can handle more complex hairstyles.
Laws explains: “This app is very easy to download and use. It's slimmer than an electric razor, so you can take it with you anywhere and cut hair anytime, anywhere.
“At the moment we can only process basic 3mm, 6mm and 9mm buzz cuts, so we are very excited to receive further investment to take us to the next stage.
“Most of us live our lives through our mobile phones, shopping, banking, playing games, etc. It also seemed like a no-brainer to put a haircut in the palm of a person's hand.”
The Appacut app not only turns your phone into a functional trimmer, but also provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a variety of styles, including skin fades, French crops, undercuts, and more.
According to a survey conducted by Appacut, 77% of people under 45 are frustrated by having to wait for a barber appointment, while a large majority (87%) would be happy to cut their own hair at a time and place that suits them. It became clear that they welcomed the convenience.
