When a long-buried secret becomes public, the two are at a loss as to how to cope with this new turning point in their lives, and they try to escape from it all for a little while. But with the enemy watching their every move, it's only a matter of time before everything they've been trying to hide comes to light, and when it does, the aftermath is never pretty. there is no. Here's how our main trio faces an impossible tangle this week!
Note: The following contains spoilers for episodes 9-10.
1. When Ji-han and Ah-jung couldn't relax
What's sad is that there's no joy on either Ah-jung or Ji-han's faces, which is evoked after the glowing kiss. They're both nervous and preoccupied with how to deal with what this new relationship means. Both are candid in that this changes everything. Ah-jung cannot marry Lee Do-han (Kim Do-wan) after this, and Ji-han has no intention of hiding the truth from her brother. But these two women had only lived for themselves in the smallest of ways up until now, and they felt guilty for even daring to do so. Ah-jung has long regretted her acting career because she was unable to buy her parents everything that a filial child should do under societal norms. And Ji-han spends years trying to make her grandfather Hyun Dae-ho (Kwon Hae-hyo) proud while fending off the attacks of Choi Seung-ah (Park Ah-in), a member of the LJ Group's strict family. I have lived within the framework of hierarchy. She therefore lives for herself and she feels that it is selfish of her to keep her emotions free even though she knows her family will disapprove.
They decide to be selfish for one day, but then they go back to the real world and there are consequences. And that day is the cutest. They hop on a bus, watch the sunrise on the beach, have breakfast, and go as far as they can in non-traditional clothing. Zaibatsu Or as the daughter-in-law of a chaebol, but as a young couple on a date.
It's quiet and peaceful and shows how well they work together as a couple despite their differences. It's all over in a blink of an eye, and it's time to confront Do-han. Ji-han asks Ah-jung to give him time because he still needs to be sensitive to Do-han's needs since both he and Do-han know that he is gay. Jihan here is really very sweet and open. He's ready to give up everything for Ah-jung, and she feels the same way, but she can't help but wonder about the most explosive secret she's hiding from him. That is, he believed that his and Do-han's marriage was a lie.
2. When Ah-jung couldn't confess about the fake marriage
While Jihan lived, Makjang He's dating his sister-in-law now (not anymore), but Ah-jung lives in the hell that she and Do-han have created. She needs to get out of this sham marriage, but she cannot betray Do-han's trust in her because she cannot force Ji-han out of the closet. With so many secrets floating around at the moment, it's inevitable that one of them will come to light, and the first one to be revealed is Ji-han and Ah-jung's fledgling relationship. A sneaky reporter, Kang Ik-joon (Shin Mun-sung), hands Seung-ah a photo of them kissing. was happy He picks up the ammunition and wastes no time waving it in Do-han's face.
He was shocked, but the reason was completely different from what she had in mind. And since Ah-jung is in a predicament as it is, when Do-han calls for her, she heads towards him, prepared for her confession. But she never gets the chance. Do-han can't believe that Ji-han doesn't even know about the fake marriage, but she would go this far without telling him, or without Ji-han. It's about a loving friend who promised to see this marriage through to the end, and a loving brother who abandoned him for his fiancée, called Do-han selfish, and continues to act as if he's “running away.'' It feels like a betrayal from both sides. I'm just scared of my life in a homophobic society.
Ji-han arrives in time to hear Do-han say the words “fake marriage” and it's game over. Everything comes to light and everyone is disappointed in each other. That's the beauty of this show and the really fun part. Its characters are messy, flawed, and stupid people in very real ways. And now those mistakes are coming back to haunt them. Ji-han is angry at Ah-jung for lying to her, and she is angry at Do-han for always running away and putting herself in impossible positions. Ah-jung feels like the worst human being imaginable. Do-han feels like there is no one in his corner. They're all right and they're all wrong. What a mess.
3. When Do-han thought there was no other way out but to keep showing off.
Living as a closeted homosexual in a society that excludes your very existence is painful. Therefore, it is somewhat understandable that Do-han tries to forcefully persuade Ah-jung to stay in her marriage. She is heartbroken that her relationship with Ji-han has cost her everything, but she rejects it. She plans to protect him and Jihan as much as possible. Even when Do-han went to his ex-boyfriend's house, Jung Dae-hyun (Shin Young-beom), the situation did not improve, and Dae-hyun admitted that he had outsmarted Ji-han. To make matters worse, Ik-joon was also sniffing around him.
Do-han almost loses his mind when he hears this, but Seung-ah thinks that maybe he knows that he is gay. But Dae-hyun looks hurt. He's tired of being accused of things he didn't do, he says.he said nothing to the reporter anything, just like he wasn't involved in sabotaging Do-han's art studio. In fact, all this time, he has been harboring regrets mixed with pain about how their relationship ended. Of course, Do-han doesn't believe him (but Dae-hyun doesn't seem to be lying). Dae-hyun points out that what Ah-jung is doing now, hiding behind her back, is incredibly despicable. Another meaningless word appeared. It seems like he is getting on Do-han's nerves and gaslighting him into thinking that he is actually a coward.
4. When Ji-han didn't know how to appease Seung-ah
Meanwhile, Ji-han is trying to panic. The moment he learns that Seung-ah had the incriminating photo of him and Ah-jung, he swallows his pride and kneels in front of her. If Ah-jung saw this, she would beg him to stop, but Ji-han wasn't lying when he said he would throw her away. all for her. That man is very Seriously, it hurts to see Seung-ah gloat like a vengeful cat that LJ is all his now, but he cares more about Ah-jung.
After a fight at Do-han's house, he and Ah-jung kindly make up. And the good thing about these two is that instead of ending their relationship because of this, they wait for each other to process their feelings. But it may be too early to talk, as another hurdle will soon rise. Seung-ah was aiming to become LJ's CEO, but from the beginning she was also seeking the truth about her mother's death. And when her grandfather disowns her and vows to never give birth to her LJ, she becomes furious and releases photos of Ah-jung and Ji-han to the media. And just like that, the truth came out.
5. When the truth comes out
Ah-jung calmly deals with the media uproar. She expected her shoe to drop someday, but she's relieved that it's not Ji-han who is dealing with the madness. She admits everything to her family and overcomes her family's disappointment and anger, but Ji-han does the same. Neither can maintain her innocence without indicting Do-han, so they silently accept the resulting accusations and hateful comments. The two make time to meet, and Ji-han vows to make everything right and says he won't let go of Ah-jung's hand first (sounds very ominous).
Seung-ah, on the other hand, is overjoyed. And Do-han hates it all. He asks Ah-jung why she doesn't save him and protect him, but Ah-jung says he will keep his promise and protect them both. He remembers his high school days when she was his beard, and if she had to choose between love and friendship and things got difficult, the people she would be choosing between I thought it would be better if he stayed by her side. She was able to get over it. So Do-han said, very She makes a difficult decision and schedules a press conference to reveal that she's gay (I'm so worried about him!), but…no one is there. His grandfather is the only one sitting there, and turns to him wearily and asks why he couldn't keep “it” a secret. oh?
In another press conference room, Ji-han takes the stage and says that everything about his relationship with Ah-jung is real, but it's not her fault. He takes all the blame, saying he chased her. Ah-jung then watches him in tears at her home.
ah. I always thought the ending would be bad purely because the relationship between the three leads was so messed up, but adding Seung-ah to the mix ruined everything. However, good old grandfather's condition is not so good at the moment. He seemed to have known from the beginning that Do-han was gay, and still tried to force Do-han to marry Yoon Chae-won (Bae Yoon-kyung). That's just disgusting. Was he treating Do-han unfairly, not only for his reluctance to run the company, but also for his direction? Wow. And when Seung-ah brings it up, what is he hiding about his daughter's death that makes him act so shady? Whatever answer Seung-ah wants to get, she probably wishes she hadn't answered.
Next week, Ji-han and Ah-jung will be shown breaking up. Will it be an exhausting third-act farewell and reunion at the end of the drama (that's too cliche! No!), or a devastating one about the mysterious car accident that has long haunted Ji-han's family? Either you end up knowing something. . Perhaps there might even be a chance that Seung-ah might turn over if her family, whom she covers for, turns out to be the bad guys and her family, whose life she ruined, becomes the victim. On to the final episode next week!
