Los Angeles alternative pop Candidate star Sizzy Lockett started singing around the age of four as a way to help her stutter and communicate with her family.
“This eventually led to me playing a Britney Spears cover at an outlet mall in Las Vegas when I was 7 years old, which led to me writing my own songs on that same piano, and the rest is history.” says Rocket. “I think it really started when I discovered punk music in high school and decided I wanted to be a rock star.”
Rocket describes his sound as punk rock with a “Club Kid” twist. This makes perfect sense. She has all the spit and bite of punk, while her beats betray a club element. And there's also the fact that she is frequently spotted wearing a keytar.
“I released an EP called.” mouse “My favorite of the projects I released last October is a dirty, sleazy New York-influenced club rat banger,” Lockett says. “I definitely enjoy dance music a lot…that's her 2024 punk in my eyes. It has the same liberated feeling.”
After all, rockets are the ideal subject for this column. She literally has “DIY” tattooed on her knuckles.
“This word means everything to me. Being able to make my own music and videos and share my art with the world on my own is so powerful,” she says.
Every Sizzy Rocket release is an event. It's renaissance punk, where everything from the artwork to the merchandise to the clothing to the videos is created from the mind of the artist to create an entire world for themselves to live in and for others to visit. It shouldn't be long before you see even more results.
“I'm in writing mode right now, locking myself in the studio and dreaming about what's next,” Lockett says.
