I've never been a person with nice natural nails. Ever since I was a child, I would bite and pick my nails until there was nothing left for my little teeth or fingers to grasp (my mom even has a photo of me innocently biting my nails as a toddler…see Please see where that led me).
it's anxiety, My subconscious habits — half the time I don’t even realize I’m doing them. Everyone has their flaws, right? The stubby, sad-looking nails are mine.
So when I discovered the world of nail polish as a teenager, a knight in shining armor stood big and proud in front of me — in the form of a social media tip from a local nail salon. . I fell in love with the idea that one of my biggest fears could be covered with such a simple solution: glue and colored powder on the tip. My ticket stub is gone. That was until I went to the counter to pay and found out the price.

Sadly, paying good money to get nice nails done every 3-4 weeks wasn't easy. As a 15-year-old, this was low on my list of priorities, especially when it comes to temporary jobs that only pay minimum wage.
Today, it only keeps going down the list because of the added costs of becoming an adult. Nail polish is reserved for special occasions (or when you don't want to go shopping for clothes or cosmetics that month and just need a little treat).
I promise not to go off topic, but when I first started my office job a few years ago, there was one stunningly beautiful woman who came to work fashionably late every morning. Apart from always being well dressed (I worked there for a year, I only saw her wearing sneakers once), what makes her so fashionable is that she It was my nails. When I asked her where she made it, she replied, “She actually makes it herself!” I was in awe.
Hey guys, that's when I discovered the Gel X Nail Kit.
What is DIY Gel-X Nail Kit?
The DIY Gel X Nail Kit is, as the name suggests, a gel nail kit. There are all kinds of tools and devices out there, and different levels of tools and devices for people of all skill levels, so it comes down to what works for you and what your budget is. It depends on what it is. But essentially, it allows people to get the look of a shiny gel manicure in the comfort of their own home.
Usually includes a UV lamp. (If you only receive the small one, please buy the larger one separately unless you want to do your nails for 10 hours), Nail file, Extensions, Nail dehydrator, Primer, Glue, Top coat, and 1 Or two colors if you're lucky.
I bought a nail kit on Amazon. Amazon has countless Gel X nail kits with different prices, brands, and accessories, but there are also plenty of other nail brands that offer their own versions.
How did you proceed?
Put simply? Practice definitely makes perfect.
Need a longer explanation? Read on, friend.
No one can get a set that looks great from the start. If someone said they did it, I wouldn't believe them.Maybe it's from my first The DIY gel set is apparently perfect, thanks to unsteady hands, a lack of time, and the urge to use the kit as soon as the delivery guy delivers it to your doorstep (an hour before work). It was a monster. Let me tell you, an hour is certainly not enough for your first rodeo, especially if you're using tips.
My nails only lasted a few days because I was poorly prepared, I didn't have all the necessary tools on hand, and to be honest, I had no idea what I was doing. And honestly, thank God, because they were awful.
Obviously, it's time to head over to YouTube and watch a proper tutorial.
After watching a lot of tutorials, I realized that preparation is key and that I don't have all the tools I need to get great looking nails. So I decided to buy a larger UV lamp (I only had a flash curing lamp), an electric nail file, a cuticle pusher, and a trimmer.
Without a clean, dry nail bed, your extensions (or gel polish if you're using them on your own nails) will flake off and your efforts won't last long.
Electric nail files were a godsend and the key to making my manicures look more professional. Using this, I was able to reshape the extensions on the nail bed and roll them neatly.
Want to know another important piece of advice I received on board? I need it time.
We're not professionals, so we can't expect you to get the job done in an hour or so (while working on your living room floor). Two years after his first attempt, it still takes him at least an hour and a half to do his signature gel manicure, but nail art takes even longer.
But with patience and practice, I've gotten much better and never got my own horns, but I do get asked by some people where I got my nails done (and I've gotten my own) is trying to look awkwardly humble about how he got his nails done (he did it himself).
verdict.
Now, I always stick to doing cost-friendly manicures myself and only return to the salon when I'm severely short on time. Because if you want to do a good job, you need a lot of nail polish.
If you think you have the patience to learn, I recommend giving this a try. Once you get the hang of it, you'll really love it. With practice, your hands will stop shaking and you'll have a clean, shiny manicure in no time.
