You're probably one of the growing number of people using Threads. This popular social media app and website has grown in popularity over the past few months. This is because our developer team has added new features. Threads are finally a trending topic, according to a new announcement from Adam Mosseri.
Want to know what kind of threads other people are posting? What's trending right now? What kind of drama will unfold? If you are someone who appreciates staying on top of what's going on in the world, you'll definitely appreciate this feature. This is a feature we've been hearing about for quite some time, so it's great to see Threads finally release this feature.
A trending topic has finally appeared in the thread
Undoubtedly, this feature is quite reminiscent of X's Trending Topics. Go to the search section and you'll see the hashtags that are getting the most tweets. These can be indicators of major ongoing events. People are not shy about tweeting about political scandals, new video games, blockbuster movies, dead celebrities, and more.
So the trending topics section will give you a good idea of what you should probably know. On Instagram, CEO Adam Mosseri posted a new thread letting users know that this new feature is finally coming to users.
Since you're using the Threads app, just tap the search icon and toolbar. There you will see a list of the biggest trending topics. This list will first appear directly below the search bar. Below that, you'll see a “Follow” suggestion.
Similar to X, tapping on a topic will show you all the top posts made about that topic. This section shows the top 5 topics, but it doesn't seem to update in real time like in X.
At the top right of your feed, you'll see a three-dot button. But don't get your hopes up about customization options. You'll only see a small panel that tells you what the trending topics feed is.
This feature is rolling out broadly to everyone, so you should be able to see it in the latest update to the Threads app. Be sure to update your app if you don't already have it.
