Lynn Nottage's Forgery or Undine Reeducation Aiming to rebuild New York City
The production begins the 2024 season at the Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn.
Works by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage Forgery or Undine Reeducation ' is being revived in New York through Brooklyn's Billie Holiday Theater, which will open its 2024 season with the production. Previews will begin on his April 11th in advance of his April 18th opening date, and performances will continue through his April 18th.
Felicia Curry (Into the Woods) will star as Undine until May 6, with Kedren A. Spencer taking over the role for the final two weeks. The cast includes Stephanie Pope (in the heights) as mother, Evander Duck Jr. (blue blood) Sharon Hope plays the father (orange is the new black) Grandma Marie Jackson role (Drag me to Joan's house) Roland Lane as Steffy (iris) Tito Rivas as Flo (shine a light) Blake Russell as Hervé (take me out) as an accountant. Substitute Kimberly Walker (where you are from) completes the company. Casting is Sujotta Paice.
The play, which premiered at Playwrights Horizons in 2004, tells the story of a successful black publicist who is forced to return to the life she left behind after her husband runs away with all his assets.

Martavious Parrish directs the new production, with set design by Rodrigo Escalante, lighting design by Amara McNeil, costume design by Christopher Vergara, sound design by Germán Martinez, wig and makeup design by Nikiya Mathis, and Karen Mathis. Featuring moves by Thornton. And the dramaturgy is Miranda Holiday. Shiku Thuo will be the production stage manager and Cello Blanks will be the assistant stage manager.
