A woman has revealed how she and her husband gave their “dreary and depressing” bathroom a spectacular makeover on the cheap.
So, if you need a bathroom upgrade but are on a tight budget and can't afford to spend much, you should listen.
DIY enthusiast Chantelle Porter showed off the before and after of her bathroom overhaul on social media, and it got people talking.
Posting on DIY On a Budget Official, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Chantelle said she got the “marble” tiles from Tem and the paint from B&Q.
“It's been a long week but it's all been worth it,” the Tamworth mum wrote alongside a photo of her bathroom.
Chantelle revealed that she used to hate simple bathrooms, but has now swapped her blue and dark bathroom for a chic green and marble space.
The wise mother continued: “I used to hate bathrooms, they were so boring and depressing.
“But I love it now. All the pain and stress has definitely paid off.
“Everything was done by me and my husband, within budget.”
“We're so proud of that,” Chantel said with a big smile.
The walls used to be bright blue with black and white tiles, but as Chantelle explained, they've now been replaced with marble-style tiles. [from] Tem.
“[We] I just stripped the wall and sanded it. [added] Silicone is applied to the entire edge. ”
Not only that, but Chantel made sure to use B&Q's Dulux Emerald Glade paint, giving the once cream-colored walls a trendy upgrade.
Chantelle's post quickly racked up 128 likes and 34 comments, so it clearly left a lot of people speechless.
“Wow, what a difference.”
Social media users were impressed with the bathroom renovation, with many receiving comments expressing this.
