KPMG UK has announced a strategic partnership with Databricks as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the data experience for its clients.
In partnership with Databricks, KPMG, a leader in data and AI, wants to innovate faster by powering its services with AI.
By combining KPMG's technical expertise with the Databricks Data Intelligence Lakehouse platform, we will be able to use an open, scalable platform to help innovate to meet our clients' data-driven requirements.
Ian West, head of alliances at KPMG UK, said realizing value from AI investments is “only possible with a good data infrastructure, including data accuracy and access”. “With AI advancing at such a pace, organizations need to know that the tools they use or build are developed based on an optimal data architecture with the right data strategy,” he said. ” he explained.
“That’s why we’re excited to announce our partnership with Databricks, which will enable us to support our clients, whether it’s to better leverage their data to innovate faster or provide more robust audits. ” West added.
KPMG's audit practice also incorporates the Databricks data intelligence platform within its global audit technology platform, KPMG Clara. Databricks technology enables KPMG auditors to analyze billions of financial transactions across thousands of audits, improving audit quality and providing deeper insight into audit-related risks.
KPMG also said the partnership will help the company implement AI in its audits by leveraging Databricks' “robust backbone for reliable data and AI solutions that support high-quality audit conduct.” He said he would aim to do so.
Michael Green, Databricks' vice president for Northern Europe, also commented on the announcement. He said more UK businesses would soon “build solid data foundations” where generative AI can drive tangible business outcomes.
“Therefore, we are entering into this partnership with KPMG to help more companies adopt modern data architectures – data architectures built on open standards with robust governance models. We are proud to conclude this agreement.”
KPMG also recently partnered with Blue J to launch a new product powered by GenAI to solve difficult tax audit problems. KPMG, along with his big four UK accountancy firms, will have exclusive access to the Ask Blue J tool for his first three years.
