Robin Bernard, who played Terry Bullock on “General Hospital” for 16 years and also worked in France, died Tuesday in San Jacinto, California. He passed away at the age of 64.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department confirmed Bernard's death Wednesday and said he was found in a vacant lot behind the store. The cause of death has not been determined, and local detectives are investigating.
Bernard was born on May 26, 1959 in Gladewater, Texas, and was drawn to performing from an early age. She began singing gospel songs with her sister Crystal, and Crystal starred in the 1990 sitcom “Wings.'' Bernard's first credited role was in Jean-Jacques Benex's stylish 1981 French hit Divas, where he was credited as Bernard Robin.
She later made guest appearances on shows such as “Whiz Kids,'' “The Facts of Life,'' and “Simon and Simon.''
Bernard began appearing on “General Hospital” in September 1984. During her time on the series, which holds the record for the longest running American soap opera, she played the feisty Terry Bullock, aka Terry O'Connor. Her character ends up developing a drinking problem that hinders her music career. She left the show in March 1990 when Terry signed a recording contract and left the town of Port Charles.
While still working on General Hospital, Bernard reunited with Benex in a small role in the 1986 French romance film Betty Blue, which was later nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and a BAFTA. will be done.
