new york – This edition of Eyewitness News Extra Time begins with concerns about crime at Fulton Center, one of New York City's busiest transportation hubs.
Westfield, the shopping mall giant operating out of Lower Manhattan's Fulton Center, is terminating its contract with 10 years remaining, citing a spike in crime and concerns about quality of life.
However, the MTA, which acts as the landlord of this property, cannot afford to remain silent.
Eyewitness News reporter Anthony Carlo reports from lower Manhattan.

Cuts to New York pizzerias and bakeries

Nowhere else can you get better pizza than in New York. Experts say this is because the food inside the park is cooked in ovens that use wood or coal.
But things are about to change.
New rules that take effect next month will require pizzerias and bakeries that use wood-fired or coal-fired ovens to install emissions control systems to reduce smoke pollution by 75%.
New York City Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Rohit Agarwala will take part in overtime to discuss the new rules.
