American actress Olivia Munn revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has undergone four surgeries in the past 10 months.
The Newsroom star, 43, posted on Instagram that the surgery included a double mastectomy.
Ms Mann said her cancer was “aggressive” and “fast-growing”, but that it was discovered when “she had plenty of options”.
She added that she “wanted to get through the hardest part before sharing” the news.
Mann's health update came three days after she attended the Oscars with her husband, comedian John Mulaney. They have a 2-year-old son, Malcolm.
The Magic Mike, Iron Man 2 and X-Men: Apocalypse star said she discovered her cancer after undergoing a mammogram that tested for 90 different cancer genes. Told.
Although these tests were negative, Mann said her doctor calculated her “Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score”, which led to further tests, including biopsies, and that “she had Luminal B cancer in both breasts.” Mann said it was discovered.
'I'm lucky'
Sharing a message alongside photos and videos from the hospital, she wrote: “Luminar B is a highly aggressive and fast-growing cancer.
“Thirty days after the biopsy, I had a double mastectomy. One day I felt perfectly fine, and the next I woke up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery.
“I'm lucky,” she added. “We caught it with plenty of time, so we had options.”
She also said she has “only cried twice” since her diagnosis.
Mann concluded his post by praising Mulaney, his family and friends, as well as the doctors, nurses and hospital staff.
“I'm so grateful to John for staying up all night to find out what all the surgeries and medications meant and what side effects and recovery I could expect,” she said.
“He was there before every surgery, he was there when I woke up, and he always kept a framed picture of my little boy Malcolm so it was the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes. I left it there.
“To my friends who have had breast cancer, and those who have connected me to friends with breast cancer, thank you for getting me through some of my most anxious and overwhelming moments.”
Mulaney commented on the post, thanking Mann for “fighting so hard to be here for us.”
“Marc and I both respect you,” he added.
