This recall involves 5 mm (0.2 inch) magnetic balls, which are small, spherical, loose, separable neodymium rare earth magnets with a strong magnetic flux. The 5 mm diameter magnets are sold in a set of 226 multi-colored magnetic balls housed in a clear plastic case and a portable tin storage box. The set comes with a black storage bag.
Therapy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled magnetic ball set, keep it away from children, and contact Joybuy Marketplace Express to receive a prepaid label for a full refund. Joybuy Marketplace Express will directly notify all known buyers.
Accident/Injury:
There were no reports. The CPSC estimates that from 2017 to 2021, there were 2,400 magnet ingestion treatments in hospital emergency departments. The CPSC is aware of seven deaths related to ingestion of dangerous magnets since 2005, two of which occurred outside the United States.
