Microsoft has updated Bing Webmaster Tools to build the IndexNow report, now named IndexNow Insights, added new Top SEO Insights to the main page, and also cleaned up the sidebar navigation within the tool. Additionally, Fabrice Canel presented how IndexNow has grown to over 2.5 billion sent URLs.
Fabrice Canel announced this in his PubCon keynote late yesterday afternoon. In fact, he said IndexNow's number of URLs sent has increased from 1.2 billion just six months ago to 2.5 billion. He also said that 17% of all URLs clicked within Bing search web results come from IndexNow.
IndexNow has also been upgraded within Bing Webmaster Tools with new IndexNow Insights reports. Older reports only showed the latest URLs through IndexNow. Reports provide insight into actions on submitted URLs (according to Microsoft).
- Learn about issues with crawled URLs and the status of submitted URLs.
- Receive detailed reports on the number of URLs submitted, crawled, and indexed.
- Check the index status, first index date, whether it was submitted late, and more for the last 1,000 submitted URLs.
- Understand where URLs are coming from, whether through Cloudflare, WordPress, manual submission, or other means.
- [重要な URL が見つかりません]Tabs allow you to see newly discovered links that are being clicked but haven't recently appeared in IndexNow, which can help you optimize your content and identify technical issues.
- Get detailed information about individual errors such as content quality, unauthorized robots, not crawled, not indexed, dead links, and more. View a list of problematic URLs and steps to fix them.
- Drill down for details about unindexed URLs, sample URLs, submission times, and mitigation steps to index your URLs.
- Export indexing trends for further analysis or reporting.
Here is a sample report:
The new Top SEO Insights report, located at the top of the Bing Webmaster Tools page, shows you what Bing issues are most important to your website's SEO. For RustyBrick it looks like this:
Let's dig into the issue in more detail.
This is a sample for this site (there is a bug in Cloudflare's integration with IndexNow, so you will need to code IndexNow into the CMS itself, which should be done today).
Microsoft writes that this report can help you improve content quality, index coverage, track progress and impact, or optimize structured data and backlinks.
Bing has also updated its navigation bar to remove the SEO tab and now just list those items, as well as other small changes to navigation.
