INS Jatayu, a naval base, is scheduled to be commissioned on March 6 at Minicoy. This is part of the government's plan to strengthen military presence and security infrastructure in the strategically located Lakshadweep Islands in the Arabian Sea. This will strengthen the Navy's overall operational capabilities and reach in the region and facilitate counter-piracy and counter-narcotics operations in the Western Arabian Sea.

A command meeting will be held on board INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant. High-tempo operations will be performed.
