How communities can influence education and how education influences communities were just some of the discussions during Wednesday's special program.
Vincennes Community and North Knox Schools superintendents spoke at the monthly Chamber Lunch as part of the Chamber’s “State of…” series.
Dr. Darryl Bobb of North Knox and Dr. Greg Parsley of Vincennes Community Schools spoke about the current programs they offer and plans for the future.
They thanked Vincennes University for its early university partnership that allows high school students to graduate with a VU associate's degree in their chosen field.
Dr. Parsley spoke about what the local business community can do to support the school's continued mission of preparing students for the next step after graduation.
Dr. Bob answered questions about this year's Indiana General Assembly session and how the current Legislature appears to be more focused on higher education than K-12.
Bob says the cause is probably the increased cost of attending college…
The State of Education program is sponsored in part by Vincennes PBS.
