In the rapidly expanding digital marketplace we all live in, Google Merchant Center (GMC) continues to be the best tool for online sellers and marketers to reach potential customers. Google Merchant Center serves as the backbone of how millions of sellers get their products seen within the Google universe, and influences how buyers discover, compare, and make purchasing decisions. GMC has become so important to the online sales environment that even one day of his downtime can cause significant damage to a seller's bottom line. This is where GMC data alerts and product protection can be a life and sales savior.
Product data alerts
In Google Merchant Center, data alerts are a useful tool to let you know if there are any issues with your products that reduce the number of active products in your feed. The reason may be data quality, delivery issues, link issues, invalid pricing, or anything else that Google believes is incorrect. Similar to product protection (see below), data alerts also require you to set a threshold for the number of products that fail before you receive a warning.
Product protection
GMC's Google Product Protection is an important tool for ensuring available products appear in your shopping feed in the event of an unexpected error. We also ask ourselves, “Is it true?” Please double-check before items are removed from your feed, even if the change is planned. When you enable product protection, the number of products in your feed is monitored and if that number falls below a percentage you set (we use 20%), those items are kept in your feed and electronic information about the products is You will receive an email. Protection has started. Dropped or removed products remain in your feed for 30 days or until you manually delete them permanently.
I have a client whose feed is relatively unstable (the developer can't figure out why). About every three weeks, their feed sheds about 80% of its product. You will receive an email from Google similar to the following:
Thanks to product protection, no products are removed from your feed and your client's shopping campaigns will continue to work properly. If this is a legitimate drop of product, you can actually remove the product. To do this, visit the GMC and[フィード]select the offending feed file, and review the removal warning with an option to remove the product.
What's the difference?
The main difference between data alerts and product protection is that data alerts notify you that a SKU in your feed has a problem and is no longer visible, whereas product protection monitors your feed and alerts you to items in your feed that are removed. Make sure you don't. . It's important to have both turned on because you may have a large number of disapproved products in your feed. Product protection doesn't tell you that.

protect profits
According to Statista, with an expected annual growth rate of 56%, the amount traded worldwide will reach $8.1 trillion by 2026, and competition in e-commerce is becoming increasingly intense across all market sectors. Sellers should take all possible steps to protect themselves and their business.
