Hugh Wallace believes the cost of living crisis is causing people to mess up their homes with shoddy DIY projects.
An award-winning architect has warned that labor shortages and rising material costs are forcing people to try to do the work themselves.
Mr Hugh, 67, told the Irish Mirror:
“Unfortunately, because of the cost of materials, this can be a very costly lesson if done incorrectly.
“Labor costs are rising because there is a shortage of skilled labor in the country.''

Hugh returned to TV screens this week in the 10th series of RTE's Home of the Year.
He said: “The Irish are pushing the boat out in terms of interior expression. The majority have individual
I love that the homeowner's tastes are reflected throughout. ”
Hugh warned about fads and trends and how they could quickly make your home look outdated.
Additionally, “Be careful with Pinterest and social media.
“People try to recreate it, but they don't understand the nature of the thinking behind the image.
“When you do something, it has to be about your passion and what inspires you.”
Hugh advised keeping clutter to a minimum and choosing furniture based on the size of the room.
He explained: “A lot of people buy sofas that don't fit. Be sure to take a tape measure to the warehouse and measure with paper when you get home.”
